Do the Human Thing

Our son Jacob was diagnosed with Autism at just two and a half years old. Now eight and a half, he's spent six years working—bravely and consistently—to feel safe, regulated, and comfortable in environments many of us take for granted.

On March 16th, 2025, he did something we once only dreamed of: he made it through an entire NBA game, in the stands, surrounded by sound, lights, and people. It wasn’t a fluke or a lucky day. It was the result of relentless effort, love, and support. It was a milestone that meant everything.

And then, something even more unexpected happened.

Just days later, Coach Chris Finch and Joe’s Timberwolves teammates decided to start Joe in their final home game of our visit—not for strategy or stats, but for Jacob. So he could hear his dad’s name announced over the loudspeakers. So he could see him start. Feel the moment. Be part of it.

As Coach Finch said, “Sometimes you just have to do the human thing.”

This shirt was created in honour of that moment—and the many human things we can all do when we lead with empathy and heart. We wear it to celebrate Jacob, and any individual with an invisible disability. To thank those who show up. To remind ourselves to keep choosing compassion.
